We invite you to join a small "faith sharing" group here at St. George Parish. Faith Sharing Groups are held on Wednesday evening from 7:00 - 8:15 PM and Friday morning from 10:00 -11:15 AM. Many who have joined one of these groups state that they listen to the Sunday Gospel and homily in a more reflective way, feel that they understand their faith in a deeper way, and experience a growing sense of community.
Maybe you haven't "joined the parish" but you are thinking about it and want to get a sense of what our community is all about.
Come, share a thought if you are comfortable, or simply listen as others speak about the inspiration they find in the Gospel. Perhaps you have been a parishioner here for years and you want to build a deeper connection to God and God's people.
Come and rest in the peace that God's word can give.
Please see one of our priests, JoAnn Nally (508-527-6973) or Joyce Purcell (508-852-3304) if you would like additional information.
HOW CAN ST. GEORGE PARISH HELP YOU? Click HERE to take the brief survey online
The Spiritual Growth Committee is concerned about the parishioners during this time of a pandemic as many people are still unable to physically join us in church. We have developed a short survey to gauge how well we are meeting your spiritual needs. Completion takes 5 minutes and is anonymous. Questions regarding the survey can be directed to Bonnie Moran or Andrea Svagdys-Gumbrell at stgeorgeparishwebmaster@gmail.
If you are completing a printed version of this survey, please mail to: 2021 Parish Survey St. George Parish 40 Brattle Street Worcester, MA 01606

The work of JoAnn Nally in chairing the Spiritual Growth Committee for 6 years was recognized and applauded. JoAnn tirelessly and effectively formed a strong team that has brought a multifaceted array of spiritual growth opportunities to the people of St. George Parish. JoAnn has stepped down as chairperson of the Committee and Deacon Paul has agreed to chair the Committee on an interim basis for 1 year.
Due to continuing pandemic concerns, no spiritual growth activities that would physically bring people together in the church building will be planned for 2020-21. Existing faith sharing groups will continue to meet (virtually or with social separation).
A Mission Statement for the Spiritual Growth Committee will be written. It will be based on what is already written in the Ministry Booklet. Spiritual Growth Committee members are: Deacon Paul – Chair; Andrea Svagdys-Gumbrell; Joyce Purcell; Joan Talbot; Bonnie Moran; and Patty Walsh. Fr. Niccolls and Fr. DaSilva serve as ex officio members.
Bishop McManus has asked that each Parish in our Diocese set aside a day on which, from home, you are willing to commit to an hour of prayer. Its purpose is to pray for an end to the Corona virus pandemic, the healing of the sick, those who died from the virus and the protection of Health Care Workers and those who, in the words of our Holy Father Pope Francis, are writing the decisive moments of our time - supermarket employees, cleaners, caregivers, transportation providers, first responders and other volunteers.
St. George Parish has chosen Friday, as our day to pray together. Our Pastor has asked us to please consider taking a specific hour to pray every Friday. If you are able to do this, please contact JoAnn Nally 508-527-6973 or jnallyspirit77@aol.com, with the hour you choose.
