A Perpetual Adoration Chapel at Saint George's Church was established in June of 1996 following the request of Pope John Paul II in 1981 to establish Perpetual Adoration Chapels in parishes throughout the world. Adorers from about 13 different parishes attend adoration at St. George's to ensure a prayerful presence at all hours of every day and night.
Adoration and prayer help enable a person to come to a deeper understanding of the Eucharistic presence and thus, draws the person into a more intimate relationship with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Let us make every effort to find the time to spend an hour with Him who loved us so much that He suffered and died for our salvation.
During Adoration, you may bring your own prayer books, use the books in the chapel, read the Bible, pray the Rosary, or just sit, relax and enjoy the sweet peace that comes from simply being in the Presence of God. Perpetual Adoration in a parish is not just for a day, a week, a month, or a year. It is not temporary but ongoing, lasting, permanent. Pope John Paul II says that: "Our essential commitment in life is to grow spiritually in the climate of the Holy Eucharist."
